João Farkas (1955) was born and lives in São Paulo, Brazil. He has had exhibitions at the most important museums in Brazil, such as MASP, MAR, MAM-Bahia and IFF, as well as in Europe and the USA. In 1986 he started a long time documentation about the Occupation of the Amazon. His photographs are part of the collection of Maison Europeénne de la Photographie-Paris, ICP-NY, Tulane University-USA and other important public and private collections.
